and I couldn't wait until this evening when the room was actually finished...here are the dining room photos to accompany the last post.
This is what the dining room looked like last night (sorry its blurry):
and this is what the dining room looks like tonight:
Aside from it looking WORLDS better, the man who painted it was a total bad ass. He was incredible. First, the man painted the entire room BY HIMSELF. Twenty foot ceilings, cracks to patch, and a staircase that wraps around the room. All. By. Himself.
To top it off, the only tape he used was to tape plastic sheeting to the floor. He did absolutely all of the detail work completely by hand.
I was/am so utterly impressed by this guy. He wins.
We should be able to hang the new chandelier soon and get this looking like a functional dining room again, but right now it is late.
Ciao Ciao. Buona Notte.

It's a Dining Room!
Two AMAZING things are happening/have happened today.
After staying up way too late emptying out the dining room to get it ready for the painters. Got up earlyish this morning to make sure I got Panda to my mom's and then back home by 9am for when the painters were supposed to show up. Then came home and made myself some breakfast and relax until they showed up.
I am SO excited to have the dining room painted today. It already looks a thousand times better. There's just one guy here today doing everything by himself, and he's kicking some ass. We have 20 foot ceilings in our dining room, so it is pretty dang impressive how much this guy has been able to do on his own. There are some other guys coming later today or tomorrow to finish patching the cracks and get into the highest creases. They'll be bringing the big ladder.
On another subject, I've had my macbook since 2006, and while I am still attached to it, it's having a rough go.
Which brings us to the second amazing thing that's happened today; our brand new computer has arrived! I can't set it up until we get all the dining room furniture out of the office, but the important thing is that it's here! It's sitting in a box on the floor of the living room right now, but I am setting it up as soon as I can. Yay!
All for now I guess. Coming up next; photos of these two amazing things! :)

First Official Wedding Photo Ordered
I think it's okay though and I'll tell you why...because I just ordered a print of it. Doesn't that make it okay?
Anyway, I am really excited because this is the first official wedding photo I've ordered to put up in our house. My grandma kinda beat me. She ordered this one (to the right) to put on her wall of wedding photos:
Back to my photo, I know you can't see our faces, but I think there is something really sweet and beautiful about it. Plus the wind makes my veil look purdy.
I even have a frame for it already. Thanks to Michelle & Jackson for buying us the only really fancy frame we now own as a wedding gift.
There are tons of really beautiful photos from our wedding day. I can't wait until we get them all on a disc so I can share all my favorites. :)

Because I have a separate blog for everything...
I am going to start writing about my efforts to get in shape, so I've set up another totally awesome blog for myself here. You know, to keep everything separate and more confusing. ;)

Cool things I'm looking forward to this year...
1. Finishing the house - the dining room is getting painted soon. We'd do it ourselves, but the damn high ceilings require scaffolding.
2. Celebrating 1st anniversary
3. Trip to Lake Como - day trip to Switzerland for Tim's Swiss adventure.
4. Taking voiceover classes (Starting next week! Hooray!)
5. Making a wedding cake
6. Lots of weddings!
7. Buying a new car

Happy 2012!
I don't do New Years Resolutions. It's not that I'm totally anti-resolution. I completely support them. If you have something about your life that you feel needs to change so that you can lead a happier life, GET ON THAT! I just don't feel that New Years is the only time that you can resolve to make a change - and sometimes changing your life takes a while, so why limit yourself to a year?
Way back in the day, I used ring in the new year by writing stupid long blog posts summarizing the events of the year. Usually I had a lot to write about because there was a lot of drama, but now my life is happily boring, so lets see how many monumental events I had in 2011...
January - New living room.
February - Returned my wedding dress and found a new one, got a practice run at voiceover.
March - Small home improvement projects
April - Tornado in Tuscaloosa
May - Started selling mark. again
June - Tim's mom had hip replacement surgery. Was supposed to stay at a physical therapy place which was more like an old folks home - all hell broke loose.
July - Golden Birthday!
August - Bridal Shower, Bachelorette Party
September - GOT MARRIED!!! and went on fantastic honeymoon in the Canadian Rockies
October - Boring
November - Got too sick to enjoy Thanksgiving
December - First Christmas without my parents and sisters, puppy health problems.
Every day we are closer to having a project done at our house. I'm trying to get a second painter to come out and give us a quote to paint the ridiculous high ceiling'd dining room. We're gonna get a lot done this year...and then the world's going to end.
11 months and 11 days to go. ;)
